The Girdletree Volunteer Fire Company, Inc. is totally non-profit and operates 100% with volunteers.  We operate a 7,200 square foot firehouse.  We have 6 pieces of emergency apparatus ranging from a brush truck to a 2,500 gallon pumper/tanker combination unit.

When we purchased our latest piece of apparatus, it was 1999.  We purchased a Peirce Pumper/Tanker combination.  This unit carries 2,500 gallons of water, has a 1,250 GPM pump with a 4 man crew cap.  Equipped, this unit cost us $331,000.

Although funded by the Worcester County Commissioners, we do receive a small amount of funding from the State of Maryland.  Donations are always welcome, and needed!

We hold our annual fund drive during Fire Prevention Week in October.  This fund drive is initiate by a mailing to our service area.  The mailing is followed by a door-to-door campaign.  Donations may also be brought to our station during our open house, held Sunday during fire prevention week.
