Residential Structure Fire Leaves 4 Homeless

An early morning fire has left 4 people homeless. Girdletree, along with Stockton, Snow Hill, Newark, Pocomoke and Greenbackville, Virginia were alerted for the 9:10AM reported residential structure fire on Sunday, April 2, 2017. Arriving firemen reported heavy smoke and fire from an attached garage. It took firefighters about 30 minutes to control the blaze. Three of the four occupants were home at the time of the fire. No injuries were reported. The Worcester County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the fire.
